Inventor, craftsman, and seeker of philosophy, Hans Jørgen Wiberg is the founder of what has grown to be the world biggest community of blind and low vision people in the app Be My Eyes. As a TEDx speaker and singularity University Alumni, he is regarded as a leading voice on the movement towards embracing accessibility and inclusivity for those living with vision impairments.
Lava is the General Manager of Culdesac Tempe, the first car-free community built from scratch in the US. Prior to Culdesac, she worked at McKinsey & Company, where she lead digital transformations of companies in traditional industries. Lava is Duke Class of 2016, where she studied Statistics and Computer Science, and is also a former DSG President.
Ideate is open to all university students throughout the world.

Yes! Ideate was created for students new to design. We wanted to emphasize learning new skills, and that’s why the workshops and speaker events on Day 1 should help you better understand the design-thinking process and its applications.
Teams should be between 3-4 members
We are accepting applications up to the day of the event! However, you may not get up to date information via email if you sign up later, so we encourage you to do so as soon as possible.
Yes, they will be and uploaded to our Youtube channel @HackDuke afterward. We encourage you to attend them live since it’s a great opportunity to learn and engage with cool speakers (and other students!).
